The 5 K's!

I love Sikhism and I would like to share what I am learning on this blog. I'm interested in Sikhism because it shows you the right way of doing things in life. 
This is my first post and I am going to tell you about the 5 K's. 

The 1st K is a Kanga (comb) which is what baptised Sikhs (those who have taken the holy water) use to comb their hair, one time forward; one time backward. 
Then, the 2nd K is Kesh(hair) because we believe that we shouldn't cut our hair because it is a gift from God.

The 3rd K is called a Kirpan (a small sword) which we don't use for killing, but we do use it for defending the vulnerable. Guru Gobind Singh Ji (I will tell you about him in a subsequent blog) said that we should first defend with our words and only in the final instance, with the kirpan. 
Next, the 4th K is called a Keshara (white shorts) which we wear to cover most of our legs so we can show respect to our god. 
Finally, the 5th K is called a Kara (an iron bracelet) to help us keep remembering God. These are the 5 K's and what they mean to us Sikhs.
